How can we help?

Common questions

How do I add my first flock?

Open Flocks and press Add flock. Give it a name, choose layers, broilers or local chickens, and enter how many birds you started with.

More details

Give the batch a name and ID, select its purpose and life stage, and record opening birds. Choose a breed or write your own; no country-specific breed is assumed. If hatch date is unknown, leave it blank and enter date acquired. Opening birds are recorded in the bird history. Keep separate batches when ages or sources differ.

How do I record eggs, feed or bird deaths?

On the dashboard press Record today’s activities, choose the flock and date, and fill in only what you counted.

More details

Feed is taken off your stock. Water is in litres. Record bird deaths with what you saw, not a diagnosis. Each egg entry is saved as a separate collection (for example morning and evening) and the day’s total adds them up — entering eggs again does not replace earlier collections. Feed and deaths are also added as new entries, so do not enter the same feed or deaths twice.

Can I collect eggs more than once a day?

Yes. Press Add collection each time you collect — morning, midday, evening or another time. The day’s total adds them all together.

More details

Each collection has its own count of unbroken eggs (trays plus single eggs) and broken eggs. To fix one collection, go to Egg Production and press Edit on that row; only that collection changes. Delete also removes only that one collection. Older records made before collections existed show as “Daily total”, unchanged. The dashboard shows eggs collected today, how many are unbroken and how many are broken. “Unbroken” means not broken when recorded — it is not a count of eggs still unsold.

Can I use bags and trays?

Yes. Set your bag size and eggs per tray in Farm Settings, then enter bags or kg, and trays plus single eggs.

More details

A 25kg bag and a 50kg bag are different; Poultra stores the actual kg. The example tray has 30 eggs, but you can change it.

How do I correct a mistake?

Egg collections can be edited or deleted on Egg Production. For a wrong bird count, record an adjustment with a reason.

More details

Do not edit opening birds; every bird change stays visible in the history. Feed usage is added up; if it was entered wrongly, keep a backup and correct the stock carefully. A feed reversal tool is not available yet.

How do I sell or transfer birds?

Open the flock and press Record movement. Choose sale, transfer, purchase or death.

More details

A sale lowers your bird count once and keeps the customer, amount and payment. Unpaid or part-paid balances stay on the sale; later payments do not lower birds again. A transfer moves birds from one flock to another, so your farm total stays the same. Poultra will not accept a change that would leave a flock with fewer than zero birds on any day. Close a flock only when its count reaches zero.

How do I track my birds’ weight?

Weigh a few birds each week and enter the number weighed and their weight in Daily Records → Weight sample.

More details

Growth shows your own measured weights, not a breed target. Feed conversion is shown only when there are two weight samples, feed recorded for every day in between, and no bird movements. Otherwise it says there is not enough data.

How do I back up or export my records?

Download a backup file in Farm Settings, and spreadsheets from Reports.

More details

For a complete copy you can restore, download a JSON backup in Farm Settings and keep it somewhere outside the browser, such as your own drive. Restoring shows a preview first and then replaces the current farm records; it does not merge. In an account farm, the restored records are queued and reach other devices after they are saved to your account. CSV files from Reports open in spreadsheet apps.

Are my records safe if I lose my phone?

Sign in on another device to recover records saved to your account. Records still waiting to sync on the lost phone cannot be recovered.

More details

Each change is first kept on your device, then uploaded to your account. The menu shows Waiting to sync, Sync failed or Saved to cloud with the last successful save time — only Saved to cloud means the change reached your account. Signing out keeps waiting changes on that device for your account only. The sample farm is stored only in that browser and is never uploaded. The online indicator shows your connection, not whether records were saved. Offline use works in the installed or published app after one online visit. Keep regular backup files as an extra copy.

What about currency and bird health?

Each money record keeps the currency it was entered in. Poultra does not convert money or diagnose sick birds.

More details

Your country is suggested from approximate connection information when available, or your browser language; no GPS is used. Country and greeting do not change your farm currency. A currency change you confirm applies to new records only. Summaries include only the selected currency. Cash, mobile money, bank and credit are labels — Poultra does not take or send payments. Cash result includes only recorded receipts and expenses; it is not accounting profit. For sudden illness or deaths, get advice from a local vet.
